At the April 14, 2026 CFEMS Awards Ceremony, Manchester Paramedic Katie Hogan was formally recognized as the 2025 Chesterfield Fire and EMS Volunteer Rescue Squad Member of the Year.
Since joining the Manchester Volunteer Rescue Squad in March 2012, Ms. Hogan has exemplified the highest standards of dedication, professionalism, and service. In recognition of her sustained contributions, she was recently granted Life Membership within the organization. Over the course of her tenure, she has served with distinction in multiple capacities, including Crew Leader and Training Officer.
During the past year, Ms. Hogan achieved a significant professional advancement through the successful completion of a paramedic bridge program, earning her certification as a paramedic. She subsequently fulfilled the comprehensive requirements of Advanced Life Support Assistant-in-Charge (ALS-AIC) field training and has been released as an Advanced Life Support provider. These accomplishments are particularly noteworthy given that they were attained while her spouse was deployed on military service and while she maintained primary responsibilities at home caring for her young children.
Ms. Hogan’s commitment to the citizens of Chesterfield County and to the mission of the Manchester Volunteer Rescue Squad is further reflected in her continued operational service. In 2025, she ranked fifth in total hours served, contributing 836.75 hours in direct support of emergency medical services.
The Manchester Volunteer Rescue Squad proudly recognizes Ms. Hogan’s exemplary service, steadfast dedication, and significant professional achievement. We extend our sincere congratulations on this well-deserved honor.
